Kings of War Dwarf Rangers Profile

There is no official rules for Dwarf Rangers a Hybrid of Ironwatch with Crossbows and Shieldbreakers. Lets take a closer look at this unit.

I suggest to use following rules for this unit.

RANGERS TROOP                       COST: 50 PTS
Type      Sp Me Ra De At Ne

Special: Headstrong, Crushing Strength (1), Crossbow, Ranger
Can have banner (+10 pts), musician (+5 pts)

RANGERS HALF-REGIMENT               COST: 90 PTS
Type      Sp Me Ra De At Ne
Inf (10)   4 4+ 5+ 4+ 10  3
Special: Headstrong, Crushing Strength (1), Crossbow, Ranger
Can have banner (+15 pts), musician (+10 pts)

RANGERS REGIMENT                    COST: 170 PTS
Type      Sp Me Ra De At Ne
Inf (20)   4 4+ 5+ 4+ 10  6
Special: Headstrong, Crushing Strength (1), Crossbow, Ranger
Can have banner (+20 pts), musician (+15 pts)

NEW SPECIAL RULES

Ranger
After deployment but before battle beginning a unit with this special rule can take one extra move phase (and only move phase). This can be At the Double! but it cannot be Charge! move. If both sides have rangers, both players roll dice. Whoever gets lower score, moves his rangers first.


This unit is very good at both shooting and fighting in close combat. With extra movement it can get in shooting range and into close combat very fast. To avoid seeing dwarf armies formed up entirely of ranger I've decided to make them quite expensive in points.
